Troy Dugas is an artist living and working in Lafayette, Louisiana. He received his BFA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (1994) and his MFA from Pratt Institute in New York (1998). His work is included in several public collections across the country, including the Frederick R. Weisman Foundation in Los Angeles, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the West Collection in Pennsylvania. Dugas has been the recipient of awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the Louisiana Division of the Arts, and he completed a residency at the McColl Center for Art + Innovation in North Carolina. His work has been featured in New American Paintings (four times), PBS Art Rocks, New Orleans Art Review, Pelican Bomb, Create! Magazine, and David Rubin’s book Psychedelic: Optical and Visionary Art Since the 1960s. Over the last twenty-five years, Dugas’ work has evolved from meticulous collages made from unused product labels, to mixed-media acrylic collages, and most recently to fiber-based artworks.
